Travel south to the Gobi desert to attend the renowned ‘Thousand camel festival’ organized by a local non- governmental organization working to protect and preserve the Bactrian camel population, which has been steadily declining over the past twelve years. This extraordinary festival allows travelers a rare opportunity to interact with and learn first-hand about this amazing animals and the camel herders’ nomadic lifestyle. Highlights of the festival include camel races, performances by traditional Mongolian musicians and dancers and visits to significant paleontological and cultural sites of the Gobi.

Brief itinerary
Day 1
March 1
Arrive in Ulaanbaatar transfer to the Hotel, sightseeing in city; Museum of Mongolian National history, Sukhbaatar square etc..
Day2-4 March 2-4
Early morning flight to the South Gobi. The local team will meet you and transfer to the camp. Camel festival days! You will enjoy authentic festival program including camels racing, children’s concert, camel wool product exhibition, camel polo, parade on camels and nice couple competition. An entertaining competition which show camel training methods and customs of ‘Heroes of Great Gobi’ people, overcomes severe climate and hard conditions of Gobi by their effort and techniques of catching camel with lasso, tying and bringing down putting wooden peg into camel’s nose and loading camel. Optional camel riding is available. Stay overnights at the ger camp.
Day 5


Day 6
Return flight to Ulaanbaatar, transfer to the hotel, visit the Gandan monastery and
Zaisan memorial.
According to your flight time we will take you to the airport.
